Exotic Woods

We try not to use very many endangered or exotic woods. However we will work with a client on special requests. These woods are more rare and hard to find or require special ordering (at least here in Minnesota)

  • Olive wood. A very exciting wood. Swirling patterns of dark and light woods. Makes an exciting handle.
  • Hazelwood. Not exotic but hard to get. Hazelwood must be harvested by hand. Not a beautiful wood but it does have specific uses.
  • Almond Wood. Not really exotic but hard to get depending on where you live. A really beautiful wood very hard with nice grain and a warm color.
  • Ebony. Dark black ebony always an elegant classic.
  • Holly. The lightest wood there is. Represents light. Tight grained and hard. Not really exotic but can be hard to find good quality and longer lengths.
  • Bog Oak is oak wood that is thousands of years old, it is recovered from ancient bogs. The wood is a deep blue black. This is a special request item and does add to the overall cost.
