Omega Artworks Catalog: Decorative Sculpture in Bronze, Stone and mixed media
We consider all of our swords and knives to be sculptural works of art, but sometimes it is refreshing to have the point be less literal. Most of our sculptures are cast in bronze the same as our sword and knife fittings, using the lost wax method of casting. They are not “cold cast bronze” or resin, and our casting editions are 25 or less, not 25,000. Currently, besides bronze, we are doing work in stone and polymer clay. A work of sculptural art is never boring or static. It moves and changes depending on the light or the point of view, it is tactile and invites you to touch it, to feel the form. A sculpture is many works of art all rolled into one.

The Bodice
Cast in solid bronze from an actual bodice. The texture and stitching of the fabric are still visible. The lacing is bright red cording with agulets on the ends. The interior is filled with soft red velvet, a marked contrast to the hard bronze. Not meant to ever be worn again. It is mounted on a piece of rough scarred oak.
