This goddess figure was sculpted by Gemma, based on “Venus” figurines that date to the Paleolithic. It is not meant to be a representation of any one artifact, but rather a modern amalgamation of the spirit of the pieces.
This tiny sculpture is made from solid cast bronze, so it is surprisingly heavy for its size. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, and the bronze will warm to your touch. We gave this particular version a high mirror-polish. You can even see yourself reflected in her belly. She is 3 inches long, and weighs a little less than a pound.
