This is a one-of-a-kind bronze sickle. We didn’t make a mold for this one, so we’ll never be able to make another sickle exactly like it. Both sides of the blade feature an incised and textured pattern of the phases of the moon. We gave the sickle a dark blade patina, but polished the moon sections for contrast.
Look closely! On one side the central moon is the full moon, but on the other side it is the fully dark new moon.
The handle is made from apple wood which we harvest sustainably and thoughtfully from our own apple tree. The blade is held in place by a large and moon-like bronze rivet. Total length from the end of the handle to the tip of the blade is about 9 inches.
