The design of this wing knife is one of our oldest—Gary sculpted the first one in the 1980s. The old mold for it fell apart years ago, but we recently decided to revisit the old design and sculpted a new version with a cleaner, more streamlined look.
The hilt features two stylized wings made from rows of little feathers. The hilt is shaped like a stylized bird’s tail. We gave this one a handle made from osage orange wood, carved in an elegant spiral. The wood of osage orange trees is naturally a bright orange or yellow, which is a color associated with the element of air in a number of different cultures and traditions. All fitting are cast bronze. The blade is made from carbon steel and is 7 inches long. The total length of the knife is 13 inches.
