Gary made this knife for a client, based on a knife found in the Royal Tombs of Ur. The original was excavated by Leonard Woolley in 1927 and dates to around 2400 BC. Gary hand sculpted our replica, then had it cast in bronze and gold plated. The handle is a lapis lazuli composite with 48 handmade gold plated studs. We tried to follow the original as much as possible in size and shape. The result is a truly stunning work of art.
